CSG Data Science and Machine Learning presents

Analyzing HPC Clusters Using Object-Centric Process Mining

Date: October 15, 2025 - 9.30 am - 1.30 pm, Format: online

Short abstract:

Process Mining deals with the extraction and analysis of event data. Oftentimes business processes are analyzed to improve the organization’s structure or performance.

However, other kinds of processes can also be used as a data source, for instance, the processes of SLURM job scheduling and execution on HPC clusters. In this training, we will first introduce process mining and cover the subfield of object-centric process mining. Next, we will showcase what data sources can be used to extract object-centric event logs from HPC clusters. Finally, we demonstrate how this data can be used for further process analysis, e.g., to identify or predict SLURM job outcomes or monitor the control flow and state of nodes or jobs.
