Biography

Thomas holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master degree in Energy Engi- neering from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. Since 2018, Thomas works as a research assis- tant at the Chair of Fluid Mechanics and Institute of Aerodynamics at RWTH Aachen University, Germany.

Thematic Advice

To conduct highly resolved flow simulations a massively parallelized simulation frame work is re- quired. Methods such as dynamic load balancing are essential. Thomas can offer experience in conducting large-scale fluid flow simulations and their post-processing.

Professional Competence

Thomas’s focuses on the wheel space flow in axial turbines. For this, he performs highly resolved fluid flow simulations and conducts detailed analyses to enhance the understanding of the tur- bine wheel space flows.
