High-Performance Process Mining in Python and Rust

Short abstract:

Process mining extracts and analyzes event data to show how processes really run, from business systems or other software. Real event logs quickly reach millions of events, and at that size the implementation decides whether an analysis takes seconds or hours. Rust4PM (r4pm) is an open-source process mining library with a core written in Rust that can be used from Rust, from Python, and in the browser. In this training, we first very briefly introduce process mining and related concepts like event logs, process models, discovery, and conformance checking. Next, we apply these techniques hands-on with Rust4PM on large real world event logs, in Python or Rust. Finally, we explore how to implement and optimize new algorithms on top of the library.
