50 people – one team! From September 7 to 8, NHR4CES team members from Aachen and Darmstadt met in person for the first time.
The two-day event started at Frankenberg Castle in Aachen. The beautiful location provided the perfect space to organize a corona-compliant event. The goal of the first day was to get to know the other team members and to gather information about the objectives of the individual working groups as well as NHR4CES in total. After an afternoon full of fun activities and discussions regarding NHR, the first day of the team event ended with a barbeque, casual conversations and a cold drink or two.
The second day took place at the IT Center of RTWH Aachen University. It mainly focused on the work in the different NHR4CES groups and gave the participants a chance to identify topics, issues, connections and fields of action. The focus of this second part was the discussion of questions that came up during the previous day. The day ended with the presentation of the results and a lunch to wrap up the team event. The biggest takeaway from this successful event is that NHR4CES thrives on open-minded, creative people who want to make a difference and that despite different locations, successful cooperation is possible.
